Half-time score Kells/Blackwater 0 Trim Celtic 0.
A solid Kells/Blackwater F. C. U15s performance was rewarded with a 1 – 0 win over Trim Celtic in their final league meeting of the season. Each of the Kells/Blackwater F. C. players contributed to a great team performance in defeating one of the teams in with a chance of winning the league title. The defense in particular played with great composure and goalkeeper Sean Ryan produced a man of the match performance with a very confident and competent display. The midfielders closed down the opposition and prevented them from developing any play around the danger areas. Ryan O’Reilly, Oisin Reilly and Liam Beggy had opportunities in the first half with the best chance falling to Mark Carrigy who headed just over the crossbar from a corner. The teams were very evenly matched and Ryan O’Reilly, Enda Yore and the overlapping Liam Byrne were causing the Trim defence some discomfort in the second half. Fifteen minutes from time Oisin Reilly fed Ryan O’Reilly in the box who was fouled as he attempted to shoot. Ryan O’ Reilly then stepped up to take the resulting penalty and steered it neatly into the corner of the net. Trim Celtic put Kells/Blackwater F. Kells Blackwater F. C. under 15s beat Torro United 3 – 2 in Kilberry in a game dominated by windy conditions. Kells/Blackwater F.
