Reserve Team
OMP 0 KellsBlackwater 7
The rumor had spread that the Navan lads fancied themselves the team to stop the KBFC reserves team winning streak. Unfortunately for them, the KellsBlackwater team forgot to read the script and set about demolishing the home team from the first kick of the ball.
Adam McManus put the first away after ten minutes when Connor Walsh crossed the ball on to his feet from the wing .OMP could have equalized when they were awarded a penalty in the twentieth minute, they took it well but keeper Anto Cumiskey seems of late to take personal insult from anyone foolish enough to try to put one past him. Just like William Wallace, Cumiskey is destined to go down in folklore as a seven foot giant with superhuman skills, and not a bad drummer to boot. Walsh put a second away from a free kick after thirty minutes followed by a third from a spectacular volley by Johnny Quighley.in the 35th minute.
KellsBlackwater started the second half in the same vein persecuting the OMP defense. Quighley got a second five minutes in. OMP were down to ten men 50 minutes which left strikers Walsh and Obembe to run riot each getting one before the end. OMP went down to nine after Obembe was brought down in the box in the final moments resulting in a penalty which Seanie Bennet put away.

Goal ace Conner Walsh played an essential role for KBFC when the unbeaten league leader visited Johnstown. Starting after five minutes when he put Kells ahead with a perfectly taken header, this was the first of four goals which the striker was to put away.
The games hinged in the balance in the second half after Johnstown narrowed the gap to a goal and were applying serious pressure in the search for an equalizer to leave it level at three all. Johnstown closest effort was denied by veteran keeper Anto Cumiskey who made the save of the season by somehow the achieving what looked like an impossible save. So after Walsh got his fourth and sealed the points

Senior Reserve league
Kells Blackwater 1 Kentstown 0
It seems like forever since the KBFC reserves have had a league match , two points ahead of the pack with 3 games in hand meant that this tie could a tricky affair for both second place Kentstown and indeed the league leaders themselves . A defeat for either side could have lead to complications in the second half of the season.
To much Christmas pudding showed on the Kells Blackwater side in the first half , there was a notable lack of sharpness in there performance . The lads struggled to show there usual flare, creativity and pace providing only a handful of real chances. One positive in an otherwise lackluster first half performance was Adam McManus who in the absence of DJ Carry played in left midfield and had a splendid first half resulting in a 30 minute strike that clipped the upright from 20 yards. Both Adam and his cousin Jake were shinning lights over lapping perfectly and feeding of on another in perfect fashion. Johnny Quighley also forced the Kentstown keeper to make two great saves just before the break and must have felt unfortunate not to have had his name on the scoreboard.
The second half brought much of the same until Andy Bennett who has just returned from Australia crossed a ball onto the head of goal magnet Connor Walsh who on the second attempt blasted the ball into the net. Kentstown rallied well but all attempts to get behind the KBFC s back line was squashed by an impressively strong performance from Captain Steven Murray and Shane Morgan. Its well known that manager Greg Smith had anticipated having the league rapped up before the Christmas break , the weather put an end to this plan , when asked for a comment Smith said ‘ there’s only one team in the league that are going to beat us and that’s ourselves , once we don’t become complacent we’ll nail it , but we have to improve we are not a second division team and there is no excuse for dropping points , for a team as talented as this its all or nothing . The work for next season starts now:”

Kingscourt 3 Kells Blackwater 4
The undefeated KBFC Senior Reserved visited Kingscourt this week in yet another top of the table clash. Kingscourt have recently converted their pitch to astro turf resulting in most visiting teams coming a cropper.
KBFC fielded a strong team, Seanie Bennett got of to a good start when he bagged the first score from 30 yard free kick strike after 10 minutes. Connor Walsh got a classy second in the 25th minute before Bennett found the net in the 40th minute to claim his second. Kingscourt got one back just before the break
The home team poured on the pressure in the second half and although veteran keeper Anto Cumiskey kept KBFC in the game by saving a penalty Kingscourt go 2 more to leave the sides level with 20 minutes to go .KBFC looked rattled until Seanie Bennett scored a 4th with another magnificent free kick from the edge of the box . KBFC took control of the last 15 minutes enforcing themselves, for the first time in the game on a shell-shocked Kingscourt team. Kells retain there unbeaten record and their top of the table status.
