Club History
Kells Boys FC was founded in 1993 and are at present one of the biggest schoolboy club in the North East Counties. The Club has expanded rapidly in the past few years and last season had over 350 players registered with the club.
In July of 2007 Kells Boys FC merged with local club Blackwater United who have Senior and Reserve teams in the MDL. This was seen by both clubs as essential to the continuation of soccer in the Kells area. The new club is now known as Kells Blackwater F.C.
From April to May we run an eight week Academy for 5, 6 and 7 year olds. This year we ran our first ever FAI Soccer Summer Camp which was booked out in a very short space of time.
We currently run a training and coaching league each Saturday in The Grange from 2 - 4pm for all children aged 6, 7, 8 and 9 years. We accommodate over 120 children each week both boys and girls. If you would like to participate as a player or coach please click here or contact 087-9960968.
We also have girls only teams for U9, U12 and are currently trying to form an U15 girls team.
Our under 10 teams participate in the MDL training league each Saturday. This is a very well run league with the emphasis on coaching rather than winning each game. If you would like to participate as player or coach please click here.
Our under 11s, 12s, 13s, 14s, 15s and 16s all play in the N.E.C.S.L. This is a fully competitive 11-a-side league in which we have enjoyed many a success with league and cup wins at all ages. Many of our schoolboy players have represented the N.E.C.S.L in all competitions including the Kennedy Cup and The Foyle Cup.
